Godhood (2020) - Building Our Own Eldritch Religion of Madness!

Your Religion should be created, your Disciples should be raised, and you should guide them to your glory. Encourage growth in your Disciples to challenge false gods and convert followers. Be the One Truth by defeating your enemies!

Do you have ever dream of being the king of your land where everything may lie in your hands? If so, then Godhood is ready to make your dream come true. The single-player game comes with a mix of several game components like Role-playing, Isometric Viewpoint, Turn-based Strategy, and Simulation. You are the king of your kingdom where everyone follows the rules you define and spend their lives following your religion’s guidelines. Your primary aim is to work for glory and prove yourself as the best king across the land. Unlike other fighting and RPG games, you aren’t supposed to involve in any combat directly; send your troops to take on your rivals and become the one Truth.

Review

It doesn’t matter whether you are a pro player or a newbie; the game releases four difficulty levels for all types of players. Before starting the game, you are asked by the game to choose one of four levels from the following: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Impossible. There are lots of achievements available that the game rewards you with as you complete objectives. Build your religion from peaceful monks to warrior-priests. You can ask your creature to sacrifice for you in return for gifts. Experience the Auto Battler Combat The game won’t directly engage you in combat since your followers will fight for you. Although the game supports only Single-player mode, you are supposed to face other religions in the turn-based combat, known as Sacraments. During the battle, you make use of persuasion, flirtation, or forced to take on the false messenger; meanwhile, converting their path using the unique system.

Customization

You are fully allowed to modify your appearance, rename your character, select the color, and more. At the start, there are options to choose from, such as Randomize and Customize. Selecting the randomize means the game will decide your character on its own, and going with customization requires you to make some tweaks following the given possibilities. Before jumping to the main game, you are asked by the game to choose what is right for you from the

following:

  • Purity
  • War
  • Peace
  • Greed
  • Generosity
  • Pleasure
  • Madness Afterward, the game will determine the gameplay depending on your selected category. I found the turn-based system quite impressive but straightforward. Your direct involvement in the battle is almost zero, but you reward the warrior who dominates the battle for you with amazing prizes.

Should You Purchase Goodhood to play?

In my opinion, Godhood may worth your time and money. It comes with endless choices and offers you an in-depth customization feature that lets you decide how your character looks like within the game. Apart from that, the combat system is auto-battler and inspired by Teamfight Tactics. Saying that doesn’t mean you are going to experience precisely the same gameplay.

    Summary:

Gameplay sees you as a ruler who is here to command the people, enforce the religion, and punish those who aren’t in favor of you. Furthermore, the game brings highly detailed graphics that keep you engaged for dozens of fun-filled hours.

    Pros:

  • A Mix of Role-playing and Strategy Components
  • Auto-batter Combat System

    Cons:

  • No Control over Tactics
